About the Project

Cheers for stopping by. I'm Mike.

A while back, I was searching for a decent Intruder Alarm Battery Calculator that complied with industry standards, but I just couldn't find one that did the math for me. Instead of giving up, I decided to build a custom tool designed specifically for engineers out in the field.

What started as a single calculator has grown into a comprehensive digital toolkit. I realised there were dozens of daily headaches we all face, whether it's calculating Standby Battery Requirements, verifying Overtime Pay and tax, or needing to sketch a quick Zone Floor Plan for a client on the fly. This site is designed to solve those "on-site" problems without the need for bulky software or expensive subscriptions.

The Panel Identity Hub was born from colleagues having to describe the panel in front of them when calling for tech support and then them needing a manual or guidance. Similarly, the Checklist Hub and Defect Sheet generators are built to help you streamline your documentation. By automating the repetitive parts of the job, you can ensure technical accuracy, smash through the paperwork, and get home on time.

It really has turned into a genuine passion project. I get to play with computers and help people get about. This platform is my way of giving back to the engineering community. I am constantly updating the PPM Guides and Technical Reference Numbers to ensure you have the most current information at your fingertips, even when you have poor signal on-site.

To be honest, I’d just love a reason to keep coming back to it, adding new features, and making it better for everyone.

Get involved: If you have a minute to look around, I’d value any feedback via the Contact page. Whether it's a bug report or a suggestion for a new tool, I want to hear it. And if a tool on here saves you five minutes on a Friday afternoon, please feel free to share it with your team or chip in towards the annual hosting bill. Knowing it’s actually helping a fellow engineer is the best motivation I have to keep the servers running.

The Coeliac 64 Challenge

This May, my partner Charlotte and I are taking on 64 miles each to raise awareness and funds for Coeliac UK.

Why 64? Because a massive 64% of people who have coeliac disease don't actually know they have it. For a long time, I was one of them. I didn't have the "classic" stomach issues, instead, I battled extreme fatigue, low iron, and brain fog before finally getting diagnosed and starting a strict gluten-free diet (RIP Chinese takeaways!).

We are trying to raise awareness of these easily missed symptoms and hit our £64 target. Every little bit helps Coeliac UK support people adjusting to this and helps find that missing 64%.
