This May, my wife Charlotte and I are taking on 64 miles each to raise awareness and funds for Coeliac UK.
Why 64? Because a massive 64% of people who have coeliac disease don't actually know they have it. For a long time, I was one of them. I didn't have the "classic" stomach issues—instead, I battled extreme fatigue, low iron, and brain fog before finally getting diagnosed and starting a strict gluten-free diet (RIP Chinese takeaways!).
We are trying to raise awareness of these easily missed symptoms and hit our £64 target. Every little bit helps Coeliac UK support people adjusting to this and helps find that missing 64%.

Got a project, a charity run, or a win to share?
Too busy to volunteer? I get it.
As engineers, we're always chasing the clock. Finding time to commit to regular volunteering can be impossible between call-outs and paperwork. That's why I highly rate Micro-Volunteering.
It allows you to help charities and researchers in bite-sized chunks (5-10 mins)—perfect for when you're waiting for a panel to reset or sitting in the van on a lunch break.
Know another great place to help out?
If you know of an app or site where we can do some good in small chunks,
send me a suggestion here so I can add it to the list!
I'm always happy to champion local businesses. Take a look at these great companies and the amazing work they're doing.
Supportive communities and important charities. Take a moment to see what they're about.
